Festival d’été de Québec

Festival d’été de Québec

Quebec City has been hosting the Festival d’été de Québec for 49 years come this July when over 300 shows on 10 stages over 11 days turn downtown Quebec City into quite the experience and of course I don’t want to miss out!  (Learn more about the festival by clicking here.)

This trip involves my closest travel friend Daniel (Daniel is an Enjoy the Journey Ambassador) who I met on the island of Corsica during a crazy adventure involving my host getting drunk, breaking a glass and making a scene at dinner then trying to drive off on her scooter and leave me stranded…(more on that story here)

So Daniel lives in Switzerland and is from Quebec City and during our monthly call/video chat he started explaining how he was flying home to Quebec for this festival in particular and I was instantly intrigued.  A few days of Google flight tracking and planning (Total cost for flight + festival + lodging = $360) and I’m on my way to Canada for 11 days of exploring Quebec City, Montreal and a 16 hour Anthony Bourdain style food and craft brewery layover in Philadelphia with my friend Phil who I ran with the Bulls with in Pamplona.
